Talk about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Some of us are just not that fortunate. We were reading the morning newspaper over hot, steaming cups of coffee when a particularly interest photo jumped out from the front page at us.
"Have you seen this, hon?"
"Seen what?" asked Trish, wondering what Mike was getting at. She recognised that cynical tone anywhere. Something or someone in the newspaper must be tickling his funny bones again.
"I thought leaders are supposed to lead by exemplary example?"
"Are we talking about anyone in particular?"
"Why don't you see for yourself?"
"Goodness gracious! She's young enough to be his daughter."
"Granddaughter, more like it," corrected Mike in undisguised disgust. The old bugger is months from going six foot under. Rumours were abound that he's suffering from a stage 4 cancer, and, it was only a matter of time before the bad cells took complete control of his weakening, decaying body. Imagine going to bed and laying down next to a breathing corpse.
"The images conjuring in my mind of the two of them together give me the creep. Can't bear to let myself imagine the two of them being intimate together. Can he really still perform at that age?"
"You want an honest-to-God answer straight from the mouth of another horse?" chortled Mike. At his wife nod of the head, he continued. "Sure thing, hon. There is that little miracle blue pill calls Viagra. I guess, the real question should be: Can an old dagger of his age and frailness satisfy a hot babe like her?"
"Perhaps the union between them is more than meet the eyes," suggested Trish.
"You could be right," agreed Mike. "Who are we to condemn the actions of the spoils of society? With the kind of money and power they possess, the world will always be their oysters."
